Artist Biography
Amal Hope is a visual artist, and art & wellbeing facilitator based in Cork City, Ireland.
She graduated with a Level 9 Arts & Wellbeing Certificate from MTU Crawford College of Art and Design (2024), and Social Studies from Mallow College (2021). She obtained a first-class honor in Counselling and Guidance Psychology Level 9 (2013).
Her work as a counsellor, combined with her academic background in psychology and her experience as an artist, profoundly shapes her artistic practice. Her themes center on human connection and identity, exploring empathy and cultural fusion. Amal is a member of the CorkPrintmakers Young Printmakers Programme (YPC) since 2021. Her work has been featured in exhibitions in KSA and Ireland, including the most recent Sample-Studios Members Summer Exhibition in 2024. Amal’s works are held in both private and public collections, including the Cork City Council collection.
In 2024, Amal was selected to participate in Sample-Studios’ Studios of Sanctuary Artist Training and Mentorship Programme, specifically aimed to progress her practice as an Art & Wellbeing workshop facilitator.
Currently, she facilitates an Art & Wellbeing class at The Glucksman Gallery, UCC as well as printmaking and wellbeing workshops as part of a collaborative program between Cork Printmakers and the Cork Migrant Centre, supported by the Creative Ireland Programme.
